ISO Geneva
Workplace identity

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and as of 2013 works in 164 countries.

In 2014 ISO commisioned a very challenging project of moving more than 150 of its emplyees into a new office in a different area of Geneva. The project that started in June 2014 had to be finished end of January 2015 which made it a very challenging deadline as well. AOS Suisse, now Colliers International (Lausanne) became the company responsible for real estate consulting, change management, communication, interior design, architecture and branding. I became responsible for branding and bringing the companie’s voice and image into the interior without being too boring and corporate.

The new headquarters had to become an activity based workplace which meant that the team members could now choose their working environment according to the specifics of thier projects. The new office will become a dynamic space that offers a variety of workstations. The new design wouldn’t be complete if the companie’s spirit and identity wasn’t present. ISO values include proximity, simplicity and quality. Basing my ideas on these values as well as the essential brand elements I came up with a concept that allowed a large pallete of solutions.

Based on one single element – a sphere, which stems from the ISO logo shape I came up with multiple ideas that gave life to the new work space, made it unique and told a story of the company in a fun and simple manner.
