Kawai is a modern serif typeface that I started at the University of Reading in 2014 under the supervision of Gerry Leonidas and Gerard Unger.
I wanted to create a modern serif that could be used in text sizes and at the same time remain interesting looking in display sizes.
I chose tall x-hight for higher readability and to create a more contemporary look & feel.
